What's up with the Ranesvkis
Production by student collective Laboratorium
A play inspired by Russian drama and reality TV

'What's up with the Ranevskis' is a contemporary performance with a critique on nowadays materialism and relativity and is a piece deeply inspired by Chekhov's idea on the effect social change has on people. The imaginary reality of what we show we are and how we feel is contrasting with the reality where you do not need to show off, then you see a human being that feels, suffers and sometimes forgets what the valuable things in life are. The harsh reality covered in lack of desire to change and the disability to realize the real problems leads the family to bankruptcy and total lost of the life they so desirably tried to defend.
